,Dr. Joyce V. B. Borba received her Ph.D. degree in Tropical Medicine and Public Health at the Federal University of Goias, Brazil, where she also received her M.S. in Tropical Medicine and Public Health and her B.S. in Pharmacy. She attended the University of North Carolina during her graduate studies in 2018-2019 as a visiting Ph.D. student when she received the Chemical Information Scholarship for Scientific Excellence awarded by the American Chemical Society for her work with computational toxicology. Currently, she works with bioinformatics tools and cheminformatics tools as quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR) to build predictive models with applications on neglected tropical diseases and toxicology.
